CHARACTER

In order to start roleplaying in Academia Veil, you must have an approved character that is placed within a school house and a character sheet. Creating techniques for your Veil is not necessary to roleplay, but know that your character won't be able to attack or defend itself and you will not be able to do missions that have enemies in them unless you are going along with someone who has approved techniques.

Please remember that all approved techniques you've made, and your done requests must be placed at your character sheet as a hyperlink leading to the topic of the technique. This is important for making sure we see what you have and what spell you can use. In case of several techniques being in the same topic, just use the same link for all techniques in the same page.

Know that travelling is a thing. Your character can only roleplay in cities/villages they are in. Roleplaying in a place your character has never been to will make the thread voided and deleted. Please try to keep up with your location with the appropriate text field in your profile. Travel rules are explained in another section.

Your character can only be in three threads at a time. All threads follow a timeline, so to decide what events happened first, you must look at the threads' dates of creation. For example, you can join thread A with person Q. Then, you and person Q join thread B which was opened after thread A. You must roleplay in topic B as the events in thread A already happened. This is in order to have a nice and smooth flow of time and continuity. For training and mission topics, there are separate rules all in their appropriate sections.

ROLE-PLAYING

God-Modding
While role-playing, no one likes a god-modder. This means controlling someone else's character without their consent as you write your posts and are extremely problematic during combat role-plays. This also means that making someone else's character take the hit without giving them a chance to react. Here is an example of such action.

Bill: He cast his fire veil technique towards Bob, giving him no change to dodge.

In a phrase like this, Bob, the other player has no way to react to the fireball thrown at him. This is forbidden, don't do this. God-modding also refers to making your character strong above their capabilities, making them take no damage and be able to get up after even the strongest of attacks. Making your character know something they couldn't possibly learn, know, or making them hear, see, smell things that they wouldn't be able to is also forbidden.

Vague Manipulation
Vague manipulation is the act of leaving information out to gain advantage. This can refer to many things, but most notably, it is not stating your characters whereabouts, which is really important giving that all veil techniques have sizes, ranges and speeds to state the possibility of dodging and missing. Vague manipulation can also mean not exactly stating what your characters goals are in order to turn them at the last minute to gain advantage, here is an example:

Bill: He reach out towards Bob with his right arm, smiling evilly.

Bill sure is bad at this, isn't he? Now this would be the correct way:

Bill: Readying himself, Bill reached out with his arm towards Bob, a cryptic smile wavering across his face. He took a deep breath, trying to evoke a fireball from his veil to throw at Bob. After 0.5 seconds, a 1 meter radius fireball shot from his hand towards Bill at the speed of 3 m/s.

With that, it is clear what Bill is trying to do. See that Bill does not say that his technique hit Bob, but just that he cast it. This way, Bill can't suddenly say that he was planning something else that would give him advantage over Bob's next post.
